Festival of Lessons & Carols

All Welcome at Festival of Lessons and Carols  - Sunday, Dec. 15 at St Paul Church

St Paul’s Women’s Guild is hosting a Festival of Lessons and Carols open to the entire parish  -- and your friends!  It is this upcoming Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 pm at St Paul Church.  This is a traditional service of Scripture and music that dates to the late 19th century.  Nine Scripture readings recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the charge to us to preach the Good News.  Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson's message and a brief prayer.  The whole program is an hour-long seamless progression of readings and music.  It is designed to be reflective, beautiful, and finally, joyful. 
 
There will be light refreshments and fellowship following the program in the narthex.  Give yourself a pause this Advent and appreciate prayerful reflection and time with friends. All are welcome.
